Chief Secretary Sindh Mumtaz Ali Shah appreciated that this initiative was starting in Sindh and added that person's abilities were greater and stronger than their disabilities and they were equal citizens in this society and, particularly in Sindh. He said that Sindh Disability Act 2018 enacted by the government of Sindh in 2018, was comprehensively designed specifically to protect and promote persons with disabilities.
President NOWPDP, Amin Hashwani said that NOWPDP was recently mandated by the government of Sindh to enforce Article 11 of the Sindh Disability Act 2018 which stated that all organizations must employ a minimum of 5% persons with disabilities, and was confident that under the current administration, significant steps would be taken for the betterment of persons with disabilities across the province.
Special Assistant to CM Sindh, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar talked about the initiatives taken by Sindh government's department of empowerment of persons with disabilities, in collaboration with NOWPDP, and otherwise, and expressed his commitment to the cause.
Dr. Shakeel Kausar, of Doctors Worldwide, also said that giving out wheelchairs to persons with disabilities was a viable initiative that could truly change people's lives by enabling them to move unlike before. These wheelchairs are designed in such a way that they can cater to people living in rocky terrains and mountainous areas.
