A bar member has approached the Lahore High Court against Hajj Policy-2019 for being unlawful. The petitioner Mian Asif Mahmood contended in his petition that the government has abolished subsidy given by the predecessors and increased the cost of Hajj. He stated the Hajj price has been hiked by 55 to 63 per cent which is not suitable and justifiable under any law.

He argued that there is no settled formula for fixation of the Hajj prices nor the Hajj affairs are being governed under any specific legislation hence the increase is without backing of any law.
