Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho hailed collaboration between ChildLife Foundation and the provincial government as a success story. She said this at a ceremony held to celebrate seven years of Children Emergency at Dr Ruth K.M Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, here on Tuesday. Dr Azra awarded also shields to the team ChildLife Foundation and Civil Hospital.

Speaking as a chief guest she said Sindh government aimed to facilitate all government teaching hospitals in Sindh through collaboration of that sort.

ChildLife Foundation's CEO Dr Ahson Rabbani expressed gratitude on completion of 7 years in which 850,000 children had been treated free-of-cost.

"Doctors, paramedics and other staff work round the clock to significantly improve the survival rate of the critically-ill children," he said.

Prof Dr Saeed Quraishy, vice chancellor DUHS also distributed awards to the residents of Civil Hospital.

He said the PEMC Certification course in collaboration with ChildLife to train the doctors has helped the doctors to enhance their knowledge, skills and behaviours so that they could provide quality care to the patients.

Founding Trustee and Chairman ChildLife Foundation Iqbal Adamjee also spoke on the occasion. He recalled how the Emergency Room was renovated and immense support he got from the staff at Civil Hospital. He said Tele-Medicine headquarters stationed at Civil is established to provide 24/7 consultation at resuscitation rooms of 10 ERs across Sindh (including Mithi) that helps in saving one additional life every hour.
