A policeman sustained bullet injuries during an encounter with drug peddlers on Tuesday, while the city police claimed to have arrested around 114 accused in their 55 raids conducted at various city neighborhoods during the last 24 hours. The SHO Pak Colony police station said the encounter took place at 'Purana Golimar' in which PC Muhammad Farooq got critically injured while the unknown accused fled the spot. The injured was rushed to a private hospital for medical aid.

The city police spokesman said 19 accused were nabbed for possessing illegal arms, 21 were drug dealers. Fourteen absconders, one proclaimed offender (PO), two dacoits, two terrorists, and some 66 others involved in various crimes have also been arrested.

The police also recovered around 21100 gram hashish, 470 gram heroin, from possession of the under-arrest accused during the course of actions.
