The total export cargos of 22,334 tonnes comprised of 2,064 tonnes of bulk cargo and 20,270 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 9,609 containers comprising of 5,257 containers import and 4,352 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,259 of 20's and 1,929 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 70 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 552 of 20's and 241 of 40's loaded containers while 786 of 20's and 1,266 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Irenes Reliance, Cora, Liana and Dareen carrying containers, oil tankers and heads respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. Maersk Salina, Express Athens, Lilac Victoria and Cedana carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 149,401 tonnes comprising 110,603 tonnes of import cargo and 38,798 tonnes of export cargo including 3,256 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 110,603 tonnes includes 4,640 tonnes of palm oil; 1,505 tonnes of LPG; 74,442 tonnes of coal; 4,000 tonnes of soyabean; 2,950 tonnes of chemical and 23,066 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 38,798 tonnes includes 38,798 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,256 containers comprising of 1,214 containers import and 2,042 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There were three ships namely CV Maersk Kinloss, CV MOL Generosity and CV CSAV Tyndall carrying containers sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships namely MV American Grace, MV Trans Spring and MV Beat Rice carrying coal and chemical respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of twelve vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean, bitumen, chemical, LPG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as fifteen vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Al-Maviva, MV Gao Yu, MV Gao Yu-2, MV New Age, MV Scarabe, MV Sea Pace, MV Port Macau, MV Pacific Activity, MV Vara Vine, MV Ikan Pulass, MV Komi, MT Al-Murwab, MT NCC Maha, MT Hori Trader and MT Navigate Voilte respectively carrying containers, bitumen, rice, coal, LNG and palm oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Al-Maviva, CV Mearsk Brooklyn, MV New Age, MT Al-Murwab and MT Glorious carrying containers, rice, LNG and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grains and Furtilizer Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday
There was one ship namely CV Maersk Brooklyn carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday, while two ships namely CV MSC Roberta and CV Maersk Salina carrying containers are due to arrive on Friday.
