Jordan's state grains buyer purchased 60,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat to be sourced from optional origins, traders said, in a tender for up to 120,000 tonnes that closed on Tuesday. The wheat was bought at $239 a tonne c&f for shipment in the first half of August. The seller was trading house CHS. Two other trading companies took part in the tender: Cerealcom Dolj, which offered $245 a tonne c&f, and Ameropa which offered $240.69 a tonne c&f.

In recent months, Jordan has struggled to buy wheat and barley in tenders due to reduced participation by international trading houses after terms for quality specifications and payment were changed.
