He said the Bureau approved to file a corruption reference against former Chairman KPT Hayat Khan and other officials for their alleged illegal allotment of land which incurred loss of Rs 18.18 billion to the national exchequer.
The EBM okayed another corruption reference against former Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Dr Ihsan Ali and other officials for their alleged corruption in fund allocation for purchase of vehicles and fuel, causing a loss of Rs 23.48 million to national exchequer.
The official said the meeting authorised a reference against Executive Engineer Irrigation Department Ayaz Ahmed and others for alleged misuse of authority, corruption in the government schemes and awarding contract to blue-eyed contractors which incurred a loss of Rs 89.3 million to national exchequer.
He said the Bureau also initiated an investigation against former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Malik Naveed Khan and ordered an inquiry against other officials.
During the meeting the chairman NAB said Bureau was determined to make Pakistan corruption free by strictly implementing the policy of accountability for all. He said] the NAB gave priority to the investigation of white-collar crime cases and would bring these to their logical conclusion.
