The Karachi Port handled 246,925 tonnes of cargo comprising 175,019 tonnes of import cargo and 71,906 tonnes of export cargo including 6,036 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.

The total import cargos of 175,019 tonnes comprised of 63,849 tonnes of containerised cargo; 273 tonnes of bulk cargo and 110,897 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 71,906 tonnes comprised of 56,746 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,400 tonnes of clinker and 4,760 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 6,036 containers comprising of 3,039 containers import and 2,997 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 1,181 of 20's and 801 of 40's loaded while 20 of 20's and 118 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,100 of 20's and 391 of 40's loaded containers while 227 of 20's and 444 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were seven ships namely SM Savannah, Northern Dexterity, Wehr Schulte, Palomar, MT Quetta, VTC Dragon and Industrial Diamond carrying containers, oil tankers, rice and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were six vessels viz. Ever Deluxe, MS Tiger, Hyundai Tacoma, Jag Pavitra, MT Lahore and Lada carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 153,660 tonnes comprising 94,494 tonnes of import cargo and 59,166 tonnes of export cargo including 3,371 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 94,494 tonnes includes 24,500 tonnes of LNG; 17,950 tonnes of palm oil; 2,309 tonnes of LPG; 4,300 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 38,279 tonnes of coal; 2,273 tonnes of project cargo and 4,883 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 59,166 tonnes includes 59,166 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,371 containers comprising of 257 containers import and 3,114 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

There were two ships namely CV Maersk Jalan and CV CMA CGM Rigoletto carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while five more ships namely MV Zi Jing Song, MV Nord Copper, MT Echo Ice, MT Al-Huwaila and MT Gao Cheng-3 carrying project cargo, coal, LPG, LNG and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of eleven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seeds, project cargo, LPG, LNG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as fifteen vessels viz. CV CSAV Tyndall, CV MSC Paris, CV MSC Busan, MV Gao Yu, MV Gao Yu-2, MV Royal Prince, MV Port Macau, MV America Graeca, MV Pacific Activity, MV Valovine, MT Gaslog Singapore, MT Beat Rice, MT NCC Maha, MT Hori Trader and MT Maritime Gisela respectively carrying containers, bitumen, coal, LNG, LPG and palm oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Paris, CV MSC Busan, MV Royal Prince, MT Gaslog Singapore and MT Maritime Gisela carrying containers, bitumen, LNG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday There are two ships namely CV CSAV Tyndall and CV Maersk Kinloss carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
