Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chohan has said that Voice of Punjab (VoP) is such a forum which will bring out a young talent in singing like Mehdi Hassan, Noor Jehan and Alam Lohar and others. "Now the melodious voices which could not be unearthed due to non-provision of opportunity would come to the fore to the public. These tunes would resound across the country. All aspirants of singing would be given a full opportunity to exhibit their talent in other fields of art in a transparent manner."

The minister was expressing these views during MoU ceremony signed between PTV and Alhamra Arts Council in connection with Voice of Punjab. The MoU was signed by Secretary Information and Culture Bilal Ahmed and MD PTV Arshad Khan. Executive director Punjab Council of Arts Ms Samman Rai and DG PILAC Dr Sughra Sadaf were also present on the occasion.

The minister claimed that VoP would be aired by PTV and its revenue would be equally distributed between information and culture department and PTV. Later, the minister while talking to the media, said that the report of 4th medical board constituted for the examination of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif transpired that Nawaz Sharif physical condition is better. Nawaz and his cronies are trying to sneak from the country by all means. They looted national exchequer in billion of rupees and our government is trying to take out all the plundered money, he added.

On the Sahiwal incident, the minister said that final report of JIT would come to the scene within 10 days and the officers who ordered the operation conducting team would be brought to the justice.
