"We have no enmity with anyone but action will be taken against those who take law in their hands," Afridi said while speaking at the 13th anniversary of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP).
He urged the parents and media to play their role regarding the government's initiatives against drugs mafia. He said that the government envisages immediate delivery of justice and implementation of best practices.
To a question about removal of property tycoon Malik Riaz's name from Exit Control List (ECL), he said that everyone is equal before the law and there is a proper legal procedure for granting one-time permission.
Afridi said that since joining of new Inspector General of Police (IGP), the change of wind can be felt in the Islamabad territory. The IGP has taken positive initiatives in upholding justice and peace, he added.
He said now citizens of Islamabad will be able to get driving licences within a day and the licence will be delivered to them on normal fee.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan reiterated his resolve to materialise the vision of the government. He said all efforts will be made for maintenance of peace and protection of lives and properties of the people. He said, "We would make all-out efforts to cater to the needs of public."
Deputy Inspector General Security Waqar Ahmad Chohan, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) ITP Farrukh Rasheed and other officials were also present on the occasion.
