Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chohan has said that the preliminary report submitted by Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Sahiwal incident has transpired that deceased Khalil and his family innocent whereas Zeeshan Javed belonged to a terrorist group.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Chohan said the JIT had sought one month time to complete the investigation. Dilating upon the details of the inquiry, the Minister said the JIT had visited the crime scene twice and recorded statements of eyewitnesses. Five police officials have been arrested after registration of criminal case under section of 302 of the PPC, he added. "The officers who ordered to conduct this operation would soon be brought to justice and nobody would be spared," claimed the Minister.
