Omar Hamid Khan, a BS-22 officer of Secretariat Group, has assumed the charge of the post of Special Secretary Finance Division here on Tuesday. An official said that after assuming the charge, Hamid attended a meeting at the Minister's Office. An official said that there is possibility that he may assume the charge of secretary finance after the retirement of incumbent finance secretary on March 22, 2019.

Earlier, Omar Hamid Khan, who was working as Secretary Benazir Income Support Programme, was transferred and directed to report to Establishment Division on January 22, 2019 with immediate effect. The notification of Hamid's new assignment is expected to be issued by Finance Division in a day or two, said an official of the Finance Ministry when contacted by Business Recorder.
