The government is striving to address the issue of low gas pressure and reduce line losses, said Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Tuesday. He said that 25 kilometres long gas pipeline is being laid in Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs 45 million. The project will help address the issue of low gas pressure in the areas of Jhanda Chichi and Aariya Mohallah.

The federal minister said that complaints regarding low gas pressure will immediately be addressed. He has directed the authorities concerned to keep him abreast of the pace of work on gas infrastructure related projects. Low gas pressure continues in most parts of the city and has been creating problems for the domestic users, especially in the morning and evening, since the beginning of winter.

The unannounced gas load shedding is severely affecting the daily routine activities of public. The government and private employees and students have to leave for their daily routine without taking breakfast due to the unavailability of gas at that time. Most localities in Rawalpindi are getting low gas pressure and for these reason housewives are unable to cook food.
