In a written order, SHC's bench headed by Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh directed Sindh Chief Secretary to appear in person before the court on the next date of hearing to explain his non-compliance with the SC judgment.
Roshan Ali Lakhan, a resident of Ghotki filed a petition in the court to seek implementation of SC' orders regarding the development funds which oil and gas companies allocate for uplift of those areas where they carryout the exploration and production.
The SHC stated why further proceedings for violating the said SC order should not be taken against him (CS). It referred to comments which the Director General Petroleum Concession's submitted in the court that showed that from 2013 to date, his office collected and provided approx $ 16.3 million as social welfare fund, $17.9m as production bonus and $ 1.8m for marine research to the Sindh government from the Exploration and Production companies.
The DG PC has, however failed to show how much was given in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, to which district. The SHC also directed him to file the same prior to the next date of hearing.
