Sindh Health department after extensive deliberations with the protesting doctors of the province has announced to accept their genuine demands. Dr Azra Pechuho, the provincial health minister here on Tuesday afternoon announced that allowances of employees, pertaining to different cadres has been raised by Rs 25,000 to Rs 75,000.

Mentioning that summary for the same has also been forwarded to Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, for approval, she said protestors have agreed to immediately end their agitation. The health minister emphasised that government was fully cognizant of the plight of patients, many reaching hospitals from far-flung areas, and have attended the issue on urgency basis.

As per available information allowance of doctors serving in BPS-17 to BPS-18 has been raised by Rs 60,000 while those in BPS 19-20 will get a raise of Rs 90,000. Sindh Health Minister has appealed to all the members of medical community, including doctors, nurses and para medics to realize their obligations towards the masses.

Dr Azra Pechuho expressed her confidence that cordiality between administration and healthcare providers would continue to be strengthened and sustained in the interest of patients.
