The total export cargos of 81,077 tonnes comprised of 67,825 tonnes of containerised cargo; 550 tonnes of bulk cargo; 9,240 tonnes of clinker and 3,462 tonnes of rice. As many as 8,759 containers comprising of 3,693 containers import and 5,066 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,422 of 20's and 1,071 of 40's loaded while 25 of 20's and 52 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,352 of 20's and 794 of 40's loaded containers while 964 of 20's and 581 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Conti Darwin, Nordspring, Irenes Reliance, Ocean Venus, MP MR Tanker-1, Jin Tao and Lian Hua Song carrying containers, oil tankers, mogas, clinker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were seven vessels viz. Maliakos, Irenes Reliance, Hyundai Oakland, Diyala, Stolt Surf, SFL Kate and Annamaria carrying containers, oil tanker, rock phosphate and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
The total import cargo of 63,916 tonnes includes 11,900 tonnes of palm oil; 2,100 tonnes of LPG; 11,340 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 31,530 tonnes of coal; 400 tonnes of chemical; 4,328 tonnes of palm kernel and 2,318 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 54,435 tonnes includes 54,435 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,987 containers comprising of 122 containers import and 2,865 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There was one ship namely Navious Unit carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, coal, soyabean seeds, palm kernel, LPG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as seventeen vessels viz. CV MSC Heidi, CV MSC Portugal, MV Reem-3, MV Gao Yu-2, MV Tramno Stanton, MV Pedhoulas Trader, MV Observator, MV Norcho Sapeake, MV Lietta, MV Pacific Activity, MV AP Astrade, MT Tomson Gas, MT White Purl, MT Al-Aamriya, MT Gao Cheng-3, MT Maritime Gisela and MT Horizon respectively carrying containers, bitumen, soyabean, coal, LPG, LNG and palm oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four vessels viz. CV MSC Heidi, CV MSC Portugal, MV Ogino Park and MT Al-Aamriya carrying containers, chemical and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Monday There are two ships namely CV MSC Maria Elena and CV Maersk Kensington carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
