An accountability court here Saturday extended the physical remand of former Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiqe and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafiqe in Paragon Housing Scam till February 2. Earlier, the NAB prosecutor pleaded the NAB could not continue the investigation into the case as Saad Rafique attended the National Assembly session the whole week.

The prosecutor therefore demanded their further physical remand enabling the NAB to carry out further investigation of the case. The counsel of Khawaja brothers contended the prosecutor sought the remand of his clients fifth times on the same ground as there is nothing to investigate further in the case, he added.
