Canada's main stock index opened higher on Friday, driven by shares of precious metal miners as demand for gold, a safe-haven asset, rose due to concerns on global growth and political uncertainties. At 9:30 a.m. ET (14:30 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 69.4 points, or 0.45 percent, at 15,350.18.
