District administration demolished over 300 illegal constructions including shops, houses and markets in a grand anti-encroachment operation at Batatal Bazaar, a suburban locality here on Thursday. Conducted on the directives of the District Nazim, Mohammad Asim Khan and Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Shahid Ali Khan and Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Town-III, Shahbaz Khattak direct supervised the operation and remained present on the spot.

Those participated in the operation were included SDO (C&W) Nasim Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Saeed Demolishing Superintendent Town-III, Mohammad Iqbal and officers of other departments. During the operation more than 300 illegal constructions including shops, markets and houses were demolished in 2.6 kilometer area through heavy machinery and the opened the road for traffic.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Nazim, Mohammad Asim Khan and ADC, Shahid Ali Khan said that due to encroachments people were facing difficulties in Batatal Bazaar and hours long traffic blockage was have become a routine matter. During the operation, the shopkeepers extended full cooperation to administration and remained busy in removing encroachments simultaneously. The District Nazim vowed that anti-encroachment operation at Batatal will remain continue till complete abolition of encroachments while operation against encroachment mafia in other areas would start soon.
