Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has fined different oil marketing companies (OMCs) on non-compliance with the directives regarding cleanliness. On the directions of the Prime Minister Imran Khan with regard to Clean & Green Initiative, the Ogra inspected various petrol pumps throughout the country and some anomalies with regard to cleanliness were found.

In this regard, the OMCs concerned were fined Rs 50,000 per petrol pump and directed to submit the same by February 06, 2019. The companies which were fined included seven petrol pumps of Shell Pakistan Limited, two petrol pumps of Attock Petroleum Limited, three petrol pumps of Byco Petroleum Limited, eight petrol pumps of Total Parco Pakistan Limited, 10 petrol pumps of Pakistan State Oil, two petrol pumps of Askar Oil Services Private Limited and Hascol Petroleum Limited each, and three petrol pumps of PUMA Energy Limited.

As soon as the amount of penalty i.e. Rs 1,850,000 is received from the 37 petrol pumps involved in the violations of the Authority's directions, the said amount will accordingly be deposited in the federal treasury.
