He was addressing to media persons after visiting the residence of ill-fate family to share their grief whose relatives were targeted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) near Sahiwal on last Saturday. The Punjab government has constituted a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the matter and finalise the report in 72 hours.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has assured the nation that those guilty of Sahiwal incident will be given exemplary punishment. In a tweet on Monday, he said the grief and anger of the people on Sahiwal incident in understandable and justified. He also assured that he will review the entire structure of Punjab police and start process of reforming it after his return from Qatar.
He said the PPP stands with the aggrieved family and it would not allow reprimand for anyone responsible for the incident. Kaira further urged the government to admit its failure and take appropriate measures to deal with the situation. It is unfortunate that life of a common man is insecure right now, he added. Kaira said the PPP would raise voice in favour of affected family in the assembly.
