Sindh Assembly on Monday condemned the Sahiwal tragedy and offered prayers for the deceased as the legislators protested against the police action that left unarmed husband, wife and teenage daughter dead. The session began around one hour late. It strongly condemned the killings of innocent parents and sister in front of the two surviving kids by the Punjab CTD cops in Sahiwal.

Later, the house debated on an adjournment motion tabled by ruling PPP's Sadia Javed against the delay in revival of circular railways in Karachi. She blamed the concerned authorities for lacking a plan to revive the project. She urged the PTI-led federal government should begin work on the circular railways without delay. She said the PPP government in 2008 had carried out a survey of the circular railways. She said successive governments should have worked for its completion. She also slammed Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid for not putting efforts to present an alternative plan to relocate about 8,000 homes that are likely to be razed built on the circular tracks.

She indirectly criticised the MQM for not developing the intra-city railway system. GDA's Nusrat Sehar Abbasi asked the treasury to show some patience with the PTI government since it has assumed the power just 'four months' ago. She said that those plundered Sindh's resources do not have the right to question others. She hoped the incumbent PTI government would complete the circular railways project.

Opposition leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi who hails from PTI also slammed the PPP's provincial government for not developing the circular railways. He said that Sindh would have witnessed exemplary development, had the PPP not robbed the province of resources.

Sindh Transport Minister Owais Qadir Shah demanded of the federal government to hand over the circular railways project to the Sindh government. He regretted that the ECNEC has not approved the project as yet. He also offered the federal government to work closely and jointly with the Sindh government on the project development. However, MQM's Muhammad Hussain Khan termed the adjournment motion against the rules. He urged the PTI to shun a debate on it. Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani turned down his reservations and continued a discussion.

Apart from praying for the victims of the Sahiwal tragedy, the lawmakers also offered fateha for renowned TV actor Gulab Chandio during the prayers session of the assembly.
