Declaring new commercial zone near the Ring Road would not only reduce pressure within the city but also help expand economic activities. He urged the provincial government to immediately announce this zoning and complete town planning within next three months.
He said the ongoing anti-encroachment drive in Shah Alam Market is depriving the workers of their jobs and besides loss of traders' capital. The human and economic factors have been ignored while launching the anti-encroachment drive and urged the government to review this operation, he said.
Almas Hyder said the current government started the anti-encroachment drive which is always welcomed but now it is being done with total disregard to human and economic cost being paid by genuine businesses. Before such a step, the government should have planned and provide alternate site to the affectees of this drive, he said.
