He stated this during a meeting with the delegation of educationists led by former Punjab Education Minister Imran Masood here on Thursday. He further said that in order to promote quality education modern reforms are being introduced by schools education department in educational institutions of Punjab, including Punjab Education Foundation, Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board, Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development, Program Monitoring and Implementation Unit, Children Library Complex and Danish School Authority.
"Sports activities are being restored in schools for setting up healthy society. Two periods weekly would be reserved for sports in schools working under the schools education department. Similarly, in order to bring best sport talent, sports competitions would be arranged between schools at tehsil, district, divisional and provincial level," he added.
He said that 'Teacher's Application', a computer software developed with the cooperation of Punjab Information Technology Board, is being introduced in 100 selected primary schools of Lahore in the first phase which will further help in capacity-building of the teachers besides providing quality education to the students.
