The Punjab chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Thursday said that that Industrial Zones will also be established in DG Khan and Taunsa Sharif While talking to a delegation of notables of Multan, DG Khan and Taunsa Sharif, the CM disclosed that a separate sub-secretariat is being set up to remove the backwardness of Southern Punjab.

Additional Chief Secretary, Addl IG and secretaries of various departments will be posted there while an independent public service commission is also being established for the people of Southern Punjab. A notification has also been issued in this regard, he added.

Buzdar maintained that Multan-Mianwali road will be upgraded to dual carriageway while the building of Safe City project has been completed in DG Khan and Taunsa Sharif will also be included in this project. The foundation stone of the cadet college in Taunsa Sharif will be laid during the next visit, he said. He added that a sum of Rs500 million has been allocated for sewerage project in Taunsa Sharif.

Moreover, the CM held a meeting with foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Circuit House. Progress on different programmes aimed at the wellbeing of southern Punjab was discussed during the meeting.

Sardar Usman said that foundation of the prosperity of the common man has been laid by the government and added that work has been started for the first time for the development of different backward areas including the southern Punjab in the real sense.

The CM also visited Nishter Hospital Multan. He went to different wards and inspected the medical facilities provided to the patients. He enquired the patients and their attendants about the treatment provided to them.
