Sindh Excise and Taxation (E&T) department has so far checked 12,940 vehicles and recovered around Rs 5.9 million during ongoing road checking campaign. According to details, around 5,886 vehicles were checked in Karachi, 2,808 vehicles in Hyderabad, 1,475 vehicles in Sukkur, 1,102 vehicles in Larkana, 1087 vehicles in Mirpurkhas and some 582 vehicles in Shaheed Benazirabad. During this campaign, the department has realised Rs 5.9 million fines and taxes. Some 479 vehicles were also impounded and documents of 973 vehicles were also confiscated.
