Senate Standing Committee of Climate Change headed by Committee Chairperson Sitara Ayaz along with Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul visited Headquarters Pakistan Maritime Security Agency for briefing by PMSA and Pakistan Navy on their efforts to protect the marine life and coastline of Pakistan from pollution.

The members of Standing Committee were received by Director General Pakistan Maritime Security Agency Rear Admiral Zaka Ur Rehman on arrival at HQ PMSA. The Committee was given presentation on PMSA efforts against Marine Pollution and PN efforts for Mangroves Plantation. In addition, the Committee was also briefed about overall Maritime Environment and Major Challenges/ achievements of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency. The Senate Standing committee appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Navy and PMSA for safeguarding the Maritime environment with success. An interaction Question Answer session was held after the presentation. Director General Pakistan Maritime Security Agency thanked Committee members for the visit and answered all queries. On the occasion Committee Chairperson, Minister of State for Climate Change and DG PMSA also interacted with media. The Senate Standing Committee and Minister assured full government cooperation to eradicate Marine Pollution and to synchronize efforts of all stakeholders to fight this menace.-PR
