The money exchange company at Sharea Faisal lost at least Rs7 million in a gang robbery. The SHO Sharea Faisal police Safdar Mashwani told Business Recorder that company was not following the standard operating procedures (SOP). As soon as the security guards opened the office at around 9am, three men entered pretending them customers. First, they held hostage one of the guards on gun point and then collected. Finally, they took to their heels.

The other two security guards deployed outside the entrance could not intercept them because the older and untrained guards were unarmed at the time of incident and also lacked necessary security protocols knowledge. The actual value of the looted cash is yet to be ascertained because money exchangers gave contradictory figures. "Some say Rs 7 million while other estimates even more," SHO said, adding that police began investigating the case after First Investigation Report (FIR) of the incident was registered.
