It is quite true that some of the important reforms Imran Khan promised to undertake in his election manifesto have run into roadblocks erected not by the opposition but entrenched interests within his party. Using strong language against political opponents is a PTI government strategy that has failed to work. That is why perhaps the party is considering removing one of its "blunt and bold" Punjab minister Chohan. The PTI government's performance in five months is not satisfactory on account of many reasons, including a huge surge in country's indebtedness.

The government headed by Imran Khan is required to take an objective stock of situation with a view to finding out durable solutions to a slew of challenges facing the country. Former Pakistan cricket team captain must not lose sight of the facts that a team's performance in a contest is always dependent on a variety of factors, including members' fitness, their confidence levels, condition of wicket and vagaries of weather. Governance is even more difficult challenge to deal with.
