Various districts of Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan were without power for seven hours on Sunday morning as three units of 747 MegaWatt got tripped as 500 KW Transformer of Guddu Thermal Power Plant malfunctioned. According to details, numerous districts across the provinces of Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan are without power for seven hours after three units of 747 MW got tripped due to malfunction of a 500 KW Transformer of Guddu Thermal Power Plant.

As per the Guddu Thermal Power Plant's Management, the electrical maintenance work is underway on an emergency basis. Earlier on January 3, several districts across the country faced power outages after three units of Guddu Thermal Power Plant tripped. The tripping led to an immediate shortfall of 747MW of electricity. Sources stated that the prime reason for the incident was dense fog.
