The Karachi Port handled 77,810 tonnes of cargo comprising 44,194 tonnes of import cargo and 33,616 tonnes of export cargo including 3,846 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 44,194 tonnes comprised of 21,921 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,025 tonnes of DAP; 1,048 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 15,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 33,616 tonnes comprised of 18,467 tonnes of containerised cargo; 13,250 tonnes of clinkers; 499 tonnes of rice and 1,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,846 containers comprising of 2,272 containers import and 1,574 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 387 of 20's and 639 of 40's loaded while 465 of 20's and 71 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 466 of 20's and 357 40's loaded containers while 58 20's and 168 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were three ships namely Hyundai Loyalty, Diyala and Stolt Kashi carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were seven vessels viz. East Bangkok, Wher Schulau, Alina, CMA CGM Racine, Cosco Hong Kong, YM Cypress and Jo Ask carrying containers and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM


A cargo volume of 142,075 tonnes comprising 109,025 tonnes of import cargo and 33,050 tonnes of export cargo including 2,310 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 142,075 tonnes includes 11,500 tonnes of diesel oil; 7,800 tonnes of palm oil; 55,783 tonnes of coal; 9,525 tonnes of Steel coil; 2,377 tonnes of LPG and 22,040 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 33,050 tonnes includes 11,200 tonnes of Talcum powder and 21,850 tonnes of containerised cargo. A total number of 2,310 containers comprising 1,160 containers import and 1,150 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

There were two ships namely GNG Concord and Super Trader carrying soyabean seeds and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning and five ships namely Glorious, Global Trader, MSC Bibao, Krania and Bow Fagus respectively are expected to sail in the same day afternoon.

A total number of ten vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, talecom powder, coal, soyabean seeds, steel coil, project cargo, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as fifteen ships namely MSL Asya, Copen Hagon, SITC Zhong Shan, MV Vita Ocean, MV Navios Sale, MV Tiger Hagan, MV SSI Triumph, MV JohnM Caraas, MV Venture Dylan, MV YM Miranda, MT Maria-II, MT ULCC Ibn Sina, MT Rita-M, MT Melati-4 and MT NCC Amal carrying containers, soyabean seeds, canola seeds, coal, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were six vessels viz. CV Maersk Hartford, CV MSC Asya, MV Vita Ocean, Copen Hagan, YM Miranda and MT Melati-4 containers, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Grains & Fertilizer Terminal (FAP), Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

There are three ships namely CV MOL Genrosity, Gas Chem Pacific and Al-Huwaila carrying containers, chemical and LNG respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.
