MCC Port Qasim has collected Rs 89 billion Customs duty during the first half (July-December) of the current fiscal year 2018-19 against Rs 71 billion collection in the corresponding period of 2017-18, registering a growth of 24.78 percent on year-on-year basis and 6 percent growth against the assigned proportionate target of Rs 84 billion for the period.

MCC Port Qasim collected Rs 16.11 billion Customs duty in December 2018 which shows 26.50 percent growth against collection of Rs 12.73 billion in the corresponding month of last year.

This collection of Rs 16 billion reflects 9 percent positive growth as against assigned target of Rs 14.77 billion for the month. During the first half of the year, the collection of sales tax stood at Rs 144 billion as against Rs 134 billion on year-on-year basis and collection of income tax remained Rs 31 billion against the last year collection of Rs 26 billion which show 7 percent and 19 percent growth respectively during the period under review.

MCC Port Qasim has recorded unprecedented growth of 14 percent in total revenue collection from Rs 233 billion to Rs 267 billion on year-on-year basis during the first half of the FY. MCC Port Qasim has, thus, contributed significant share in total revenue collection by the FBR during the period.

An official said that the tremendous achievement occurred owing to the teamwork under the motivational leadership of Ch Muhammad Javaid, Collector MCC Port Qasim.
