The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) expressing concern over the higher mark-up rate Tuesday urged the government to bring it down for the revival of industry and improvement of productivity.

LCCI Acting President Khawaja Shahzad Nasir said the industry was already facing different issues including high production cost, provision of cheap and easy loans and unnecessary delay in payment of sales tax refunds. Under such circumstance, the higher interest rate is aggravating the financial health of the industry, he added. He further said that such issues are not only leaving negative impact on job creation programme but also causing decline in the government revenue.
