Taiwan's feed industry procurement association MFIG purchased up to 65,000 tonnes of corn which can be sourced optionally from the United States or Brazil in an international tender on Friday, European traders said. The precise volume bought was unclear. The tender had sought 40,000 to 65,000 tonnes.

The seller has the right to select the final origin. The corn was all bought at a premium of 156.5 US cents c&f over the Chicago May 2019 corn contract, traders said. Seller was believed to be trading house Amaggi. Shipment is between March 6 and March 25, 2019. The seller would have the freedom to deliver either from the US Gulf or Brazil in this shipment period. The seller must declare the origin by February 6, 2019.
