Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday submitted an adjournment motion in the Sindh Assembly secretariat seeking CM Sindh's resignation following a JIT report showing him as a facilitator to give financial gains to a private business group.

The motion, submitted by PTI's Khurrum Sher Zaman Khan, asked Syed Murad Ali Shah to resign after a JIT report pointed out his alleged involvement in a financial support to an Omni Group. However, the Sindh government rejected the charge placed against the CM in the motion and called it against the rules because the issue is sub judice.

The PTI's legislator stated that JIT report showed Murad Ali Shah as a financial facilitator to the private business group, adding that CM Sindh should resign as he is no more 'Sadiq and Amin'. The motion said that the JIT report detailed a number of financial scams implicating the CM Sindh. "If the adjournment motion was cancelled then we will protest," Khurrum Sher Zaman told media after submitting the motion.

Opposition seeks a discussion in the house on the JIT report, he said and added that the CM Sindh should accept the debate and let the public know of the issue. Someone other than from Zardari's PPP CM Sindh will not be acceptable, he said, adding that "someone from PPP [Haqiqi] should be made CM Sindh. Our demand is that the PPP should change its CM". He said that the PPP government should also come clean on money laundering and fake bank accounts.

Murtaza Wahab, advisor to the CM Sindh said that the issue raised in the adjournment motion is already before the court, therefore, making it inadmissible to the house proceedings for a debate, as per the rules and regulations of the provincial legislature.

He said it is all left to the Speaker Sindh Assembly's discretion to permit the motion for a discussion, he added.
