Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has released Rs 110.6 billion (16.39pc) including Rs 30.34 billion foreign aid for different development projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2018-19 against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 675 billion. According to the latest data of PSDP 2018-19 released by Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, the government released a total of Rs 54.1 billion including Rs 4.5 billion foreign aid for development projects of various ministries, divisions and related departments out of Rs 291.55 billion budgeted allocation.

The PTI government did not release development funds so far for Board of Investment, Commerce Division, Inter-Provincial Coordination Division and Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Division.

The Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform has released a total of Rs 32.38 billion including Rs 20.29 billion foreign aid out of Rs 185.2 billion budgeted allocation for various development projects of the National Highway Authority (NHA) and Rs 8.1 billion out of Rs 28.065 billion budgeted allocation for the development projects of Pakistan Railway. The government released Rs 10.51 billion including Rs 4 billion foreign aid out of Rs 78 billion for development projects and schemes of Water Resources Division.

The government released Rs 1.34 billion out of Rs 10.9 billion budgeted allocation for the development projects of the National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division; Rs 1.79 billion for Planning, Development and Reforms; and Rs 7.2 million for Textile Industry Division etc.

A total of Rs 4.67 billon including Rs 60.72 million out of Rs 30.96 billion budgeted allocation were released for Higher Education Commission; Rs 2.6 billion were released for the Interior Division; Rs 2.78 billion for Communication Division (other than NHA); and Rs 28.7 million for Federal Education and Professional Training Division.

The government released Rs 201.4 million for the Cabinet Division against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 1 billion. The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission received Rs 10.13 billion out of Rs 26.7 billion budgeted allocation for development projects. An amount of Rs 443.55 million was released for the Aviation Division; Rs 321.2 million for Capital Administration and Development Division; Rs 231.34 million for Climate Change; and Rs 546 million have been released for Defence Production Division.

The government released Rs 622.86 million including Rs 344.51 million foreign aid for Information Technology and Telecom Division out of Rs 1.45 billion budgeted allocation; Rs 5.46 billion including Rs 76.67 million foreign aid for State and Frontier Region Division; and Rs 3.12 billion including Rs 3.1 billion foreign aid out of Rs 33.37 billion for development projects of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO).

The government released Rs 10.77 billion including Rs 2.1 billion foreign aid for development projects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 25.86 billion and Rs 7.84 billion including Rs 400.6 million foreign aid for development project of Gilgit-Baltistan out of Rs 17.53 billion budgeted allocation for current fiscal year-2018-19.

The funds are released as per quarterly ceilings; first quarter (July-September) 20 percent, second quarter (Octo-ber-December) 20 percent, third quarter (January-March) 30 percent and fourth quarter (April-June) 30 percent.
