The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has withdrawn regulatory duty (RD) of Rs4,669 per metric ton (PMT) on the import of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). In this regard, the FBR has issued SRO.1200(I)/2018 to amend SRO.640(I)/2018 here on Thursday. According to the notification, the FBR has withdrawn the entry number 72 (RD on LPG at Rs4,669/metric ton) from SRO.640(I)/2018.

Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet had decided to abolish the regulatory duty on the import of LPG. It was also decided that sales tax on imported LPG would be charged at a reduced rate of 10 percent. Under SRO.640(I)/2018, federal government has levied regulatory duty on import of different goods specified in the notification.
