Punjab Excise & Taxation Department has set up a Service Centre here at Satiana Road for the provision of department's services under one roof as a universal system. The service centre formally inaugurated by Punjab Minister for Excise & Taxation Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmad here on Friday.

Director Excise Fiza Shah, Project Director Rizwan Akram Sherwani, other officers of the department and notables of the area were present on this occasion. After unveiling the inaugural plaque, the excise minister took a round of service centre and went to different counters to review the procedure of service system. He also launched the services by issuing token through computerized machine. He advised the staff to deliver excellent services to the citizens for achieving the desire results regarding easy access of the public up to the department services.

Earlier, addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Punjab Excise & Taxation Minister Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmad said that the govt. was taking practical measures for bringing real change in public service system under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said that the positive effects of journey of change would be reached at every city and village to materialize the dream of New Pakistan. The Minister said that the mission of corruption free Pakistan would be achieved by introducing new reforms and legislations. He informed that Excise & Taxation Department was being transformed into model one with regards the service delivery as per the advanced technology. He warned that there was no room for the corrupt officials in the department and the merit & transparency would be ensured in the departmental affairs.

He announced that Service Centre of Excise Department would be established each and every city of Punjab Province to facilitate the public regarding redressing the issues relating the Excise Department under one roof. The Minister lauded the efforts of the concerned officers for establishing the Service Centre speedily and directed proper monitoring of the working of this Centre would be carried out for ensuring the easy access of the public and best behaviour of the staff. Giving the details Director Excise Fiza Shah informed the services regarding Motor Vehicle Registration, Property Tax, Entertainment Tax, Excise Duty & Fee, Professional Tax and Information about Licenses and guidance about the different issues relating the department would be provided at this centre. Project Director Rizwan Akram Sherwani informed that Nine Service Centers of Excise Department are working in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi and Bahawalpur. He said that other projects of establishment of Service Centers are underway in different cities of the Punjab.
