Religio-political parties' alliance MMA staged its power show near founder of Pakistan's mausoleum Sunday with its central leadership telling the supporters Elections 2018 is a contest between different ideologies. Speaking at the public meeting at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal's president and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman lashed out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership due to what he claimed poor performance of KP government.

"PTI's KP government increased debt of the province to Rs 350 billion," he said. Fazl also asked Karachiites to use their votes in favour of right electoral contestant because nowadays vote is a mean to bring anyone to power. He lamented that Karachi had remained scene of massacre and people of this port city were divided on ethnic and sectarian lines, here. "The MMA is an alliance that has been founded on Islamic ideology," said Senator Sirajul Haq, MMA's central leader and Jamaat-e-Islami chief, vowing that MMA would struggle for implementing Islamic system in the country.

He said Pakistan needed an honest leadership that can resolve its issues sincerely and without taking any dictation from US administration. He said solution of every problem of the country including corruption lies in the message of Quran.

"MMA will implement uniformed education system for all where the children will be imparted education fairly without any discrimination," Siraj asserted, citing that MMA's electoral symbol is book and they want book in children's hands. He said MMA's would-be government would spend the biggest amount of the fiscal budget on education, after defence allocations.

MMA's leader was surprised over much-orchestrated slogan of change being propagated by PTI chief while the former ruling parties (PML-N and PPP's) leaders have taken over PTI! "How can these old guards bring change from PTI's platform," Siraj asked, noting that these parties governments were declared corrupt and failure by Imran Khan.

He also criticized other parties' leaders for coming to Karachi only for electioneering. He said they were not seen here when Karachi was bleeding. He said religious parties continue to stand against evil forces in Karachi so far because the city belongs to Islamists.

"Only the MMA can bring about revolution in the country and once again make Karachi the city of lights," he vowed. Shah Owais Noorani of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan-Noorani group said MMA would change this system through 'ballot' and not 'bullet.' He said that those who had been elected from the city through 'rigging' had done nothing for its betterment and gave Karachiites bodies in gunny bags, target killing and extortion. "They became millionaires through selling the city's water and destroying Karachi Development Authority for their own interest."

The JI Karachi chapter chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that Karachi has become a hub of problems. He said people are deprived of water. He accused Pakistan Peoples Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Awami National Party of having failed to complete a single mega project of water for the city in their coalition government. He said they had raised voice on the issues of the mega city. He said NADRA was forced to change its SOP owing to JI's campaign. Allama Arif Wahidi of Islami Tehreek Pakistan, Maulana Ghafoor Hyderi and Maulana Rahsid Soomro of JUI-F also spoke.
