The Federal Board of Revenue Friday launched a new facility for taxpayers to pay taxes directly from their commercial bank accounts for which the FBR in collaboration with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and 1-Link Network is offering online payment mechanism using Alternative Delivery Channels (ADC channels).

The FBR has launched trial run of payment of taxes through Alternate Delivery Channels (ATM, online banking and internet banking) to deposit income tax, sales tax, federal excise duty (FED) and customs duty.

According to the details of the Alternate Delivery Channels issued by the FBR here on Friday, the online collection system e-payments module through ATM & Online banking is live on trial basis. Banks at which this facility is available included Askari Bank, Bank Alfalah, Meezan Bank, NBP, Habib Metro, ICBC, Soneri Bank, JS Bank, MCB, UBL, HBL, ABL, Summit Bank, Bank of Punjab, Bank Al Habib, Faysal Bank, Silkbank and BankIslami. The FBR has also shared key features of ADC channels.

Under the procedure, taxpayer logs on to the FBR system and prepares the Payment Slip ID (PSID) of any of tax type with ADC payment mode. Note down the PSID number on completion of payment for further processing, the FBR said.

The taxpayer shall log in to the online banking system of his/her bank through computer or mobile phone or visit ATM facility. The bill payment screen of the bank shall reflect "FBR" as biller. The taxpayer shall click the option "FBR". The bank/ATM screen shall require the trader to enter PSID generated by Iris system. The screen will appear for making payments to FBR.

By entering PSID, the payment details shall be visible to the taxpayer for approval of the payment of taxes. Upon confirmation, the bank account of taxpayer shall be debited and a message of successful transaction shall be visible on the screen, the FBR said.

The payment will be provisionally authorized after confirmation from taxpayer. Within 03 hours of confirmation, the payment will be marked as paid. ACPR will be provided to the taxpayer through e-mail and confirmation message sent on SMS. At the Same time CPR is available to Iris system for further use.

Now the taxpayer can utilize this computerized payment receipt (CPR) in their declaration in Iris System. Mode will facilitate you to make payment directly from your commercial bank account through the advanced methods such as Internet Banking Websites, ATM, mobile banking and call center facilities. Availability of these options will bring efficiencies and convenience for taxpayer and improve the ease for tax compliance and tax collections, FBR added.

The FBR said that the Payment System is a modern way of collecting tax payments through internet. Banks, Taxpayers, Withholding Agents and e-Intermediaries are beneficiaries of this system. Taxpayers can create their electronic payments from anywhere and can also schedule their payments to be credited to government accounts on any future dates. Payment System decreases the workload on Bank staff. Payments made through 'PAYSYS' are instantly communicated to electronic systems of FBR and Banks. It's very easy to use this system and generate various informative reports for daily branch level operations. Payment System provides you electronic payment documents in hard copy as well as electronic copy in PDF format for subsequent utilization.

The FBR has also launched the said facility for payment of taxes under WEBOC using Alternative Delivery Channels.

The FBR said that the round-the-clock facility is being provided to importers/exporters to pay Customs Duties, taxes and other dues electronically from their bank accounts through internet banking and automated teller machines (ATM) for clearance of consignments through WeBOC system. The trader/Clearing Agent shall login to WeBOC system for filing of Goods Declaration in WeBOC.

Trader/Clearing Agent will click on the "Submit" button of Goods Declaration. Upon click on the Submit button system will display the Goods Declaration Payment Information Screen to Trader/Clearing Agent, the FBR said.
