A group of councilors affiliated with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) from Union Council-IV of provincial assembly constituency PK-1 Peshawar has formed the Insaf Councilors Ittehad, meant to mutually raise voice for their due share in developmental schemes.

Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, the Insaf Councilors Ittehad president, Fazal Rahim said that more than 40 to 50 councilors were part of the Ittehad from nine union councils of the provincial assembly constituency PK-1. He said the alliance basic aims to unite all ignored councilors at their respective union council level under a single platform as well as gain due share in the developmental projects. He said they would try to bring councilors from other constituencies under umbrella of the alliance across the province.

Fazal Rahim lamented the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leadership has completely ignored the members and councilors, due to which the party is losing its position in the area. He complained that the councilors of different union councils were not taking into confidence about developmental schemes at tehsil and district levels. He urged the authorities concerned to make proper consultation with councilors before the execution of uplift projects at tehsil and district level.

"We are street workers of the PTI, which should not be ignored, Rahim said. He said they don't have any intentions to seek any incentive and privileges. But, he said the notion is to jointly work in public welfare projects.

He expressed full confidence over the leadership of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. But, he urged the party central and provincial leadership not to ignore them in the upcoming general elections. He said the Imran Khan is only ray of hope for the people of the country.

The PTI workers said the PTI-led KP government had fulfilled all its pre-elections promises during its rule in four and half year in the province. They praised that there was no precedent of reforms in health, education sectors and introduction of good governance system, which had brought by PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They said the government had initiated public welfare projects across the province. The workers viewed the PTI is only political party, which would pull the country out from current crisis situation. The workers on the occasion, congratulated the party chief Imran Khan for his third marriage.

Later, the Insaf Councilors Ittehad was formally announced, according to which Fazal Rahim, president, Ghayyas ud Din, General Secretary, Shah Faisal, Senior Vice President, and the rest are the members of the cabinet.
