Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s candidate for the Senate election Dr Zarqa Suharwardy has expressed apprehension over the fairness of forthcoming Senate elections and accused the N-League of horse trading. She expressed these views while talking to a delegation of party workers here on Tuesday. She claimed that the N-League is busy in buying the support of provincial legislators for the Senate election; it is using all unfair means to win the election.

She accused the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of giving a preferential treatment to the N-League candidates by accepting their nomination papers without any scrutiny while it is demanding declaration of assets from the opposition candidates. "The ECP is not playing an impartial role in the conduct of election," she added. She condemned the partial role of the ECP. Dr Zarqa said the PML-N is making the parliament a controversial institution. She further said the Prime Minister is making anti-judges remarks that to prove his loyalty. "If the parliament is used against the judiciary, we will resist this attempt," she added.
