Spiritual leader of Sikh community and chairman of Nishkam Group Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia has lauded the Pakistan's measures for providing different facilities to Sikh community along with maintenance and beautification of religious places. Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia along with his two companions Phaldeep Singh Khela and Bhupinder Singh Minha called on Shahbaz Sharif, here on Tuesday and discussed matters regarding celebrations on the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Devji.

He said steps of the Punjab government taken for wellbeing of Sikh community are laudable and credit of complete religious and inter-faith harmony goes to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Shahbaz is a visionary leader who is loved not only in Pakistan but abroad as well. On this occasion the chief minister assured all out co-operation of Punjab government with regard to birthday celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak and said full protection of constitutional rights of minority communities including Sikhs has been fully ensured in Pakistan.

Historic steps have been taken for wellbeing and prosperity of the Sikh community living in Punjab and all possible steps are being taken for maintenance, protection and up-keeping of Sikh Gurudwaras and other religious places of all the minority communities, CM said. In fact, protection of fundamental rights of the minority communities, along with protection of their life and property, is part of Punjab government's priorities, he added.

Sikhs, as well as all the religious minorities, enjoy complete religious freedom along with constitutional rights. It is governmental policy to ensure protection and provision of different facilities to the Sikh community and other religious minorities for performing their religious rituals, Shahbaz stated. Along with it, implementation on minority quota in public sector recruitments is also being ensured and we feel proud to serve the Sikh brethren, Punjab government is following the golden principles of Islam including inter-religious harmony and tolerance, he assured

It may be added that Bhai Sahib Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia is third in line of Sikh spiritual leaders of Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha (GNNSJ). He holds two Honorary Doctorates for service to religious faith propagation, community service, education and research. He holds nine Chairmanships, and an equal number of Trusteeships; four Directorships; and three Patron ships of different organisations.
