President Mamnoon Hussain has promulgated the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Ordinance, 2018, further amending the Anti-terrorism Act, 1997. The Ordinance, promulgated by the President on February 9, 2018, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 89 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, shall come into force at once. Following is the text of the Ordinance dated February 9, 2018 and issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice here on Monday:-

"An ordinance further to amend the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 whereas, it is expedient further to amend the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 (XXVII of 1997) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;

And whereas, the Senate and the National Assembly are not in session and the President is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 89 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the President is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:-

Short title and commencement.-(1) This Ordinance may be called the Anti-terrorism (Amendment) Ordinance, 2018.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of section 11B, Act XXVII of 1997.- In the Anti-terrorism Act, 1997 (XXVII of 1997), herein after referred to as "the Act", in section 11B, in sub-section (1), after clause (a), the following new clause shall be inserted, namely:-

"(aa) listed under the United Nations (Security Council) Act, 1948 (XIV of 1948), or".

3. Amendment of section 11EE, Act XXVII of 1997.- In the Act in section 11EE, in sub-section (1), after clause (a), the following new clause shall be inserted, namely:-

"(aa) listed under the United Nations (Security Council) Act, 1948 (XIV of 1948); or"."
