Minister of State for Finance, Rana Muhammad Afzal has said that Pakistan will make payments to international organizations on time. Speaking at a meeting of federation of Pakistan chambers of commerce and Industry (FPCCI), he dispelled the notion of government facing a financial crunch; the minister clarified that Pakistan has enough financial resources to not only meet development expenses but also pay off the local and international debts.

He said that the country progressing in right direction and its exports have started showing improvement. He said that the duties on few items will be withdrawn and imports duty on machinery will be exempted to encourage industrialization. He advised people to pay taxes which will help carry out development projects.

He said that the banking sector performing well and baking finance sector showing improvement. He said that the government is well aware of the business community issues of sales tax and income tax refunds. The minister said that the government wants to increase trade with Iran. President FPCCI Ghazanfar Bilour, S M Muneer, Gulzar Firoz and others attended the meeting.
