The total import cargo of 113,399 tonnes comprised of 50,915 tonnes of containerised cargo; 48,663 tonnes of bulk cargo: 26,500 tonnes of coal; 17,000 tonnes of coke; 5,163 tonnes of steel scrap and 13,821 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 38,983 tonnes comprised of 27,418 tonnes of containerised cargo; 650 tonnes of general cargo and 10,915 tonnes of stone. As many as 6,702 containers comprising of 3,519 containers import and 3,183 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,370 of 20's and 960 of 40's loaded while 05 of 20's and 112 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 581 of 20's and 447 of 40's loaded containers while 628 of 20's and 540 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Northern Dependant, OOCL Shanghai, Hansa Neuburg, Johanna Oldendorff, Wan Hai-506, Oriental Rose and N Mars carrying containers, oil tanker and mogas respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. Hansa Neuburg, Wan Hai-506 and Tokyo Bulker carrying containers and coal respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely KMTC Dubai and Ever Diamond carrying containers respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while another ship namely Stove Tide carrying stone is expected to sail on Saturday. There were five vessels viz. Fowairet, Ever Unique, MT Shalamar, CT Frontier and Triton Valk carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and coal respectively due to arrive on Friday, while four vessels viz. Prosper, Polo, APL Japan and Grand Neptune carrying containers and vehicle respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
A cargo volume of 106,141 tonnes comprising 85,058 tonnes of import cargo and 21,083 tonnes of export cargo including 1,910 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 85,058 tonnes includes 35,079 tonnes of furnace oil, 11,995 tonnes of palm oil; 11,800 tonnes of coal; 5,300 tonnes of canola seeds; 2,000 tonnes of chemical; 1,100 tonnes of LPG and 17,784 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 21,083 tonnes includes; 2,577 tonnes of rice and 18,506 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,910 containers comprising of 936 containers import and 974 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There were two ships namely MT Quetta and MT Corona carrying furnace oil and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another ship namely CV Priority carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Priority, MV Pan Oceanis, MV Yasa Pembe, MV Eptalots, MV YM Miranda, MT Maria-III, MT Tiamat Gas, MT Quetta and MT Corona were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, coal, canola seeds, chemical, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as twelve ships namely CV Hansa America, MV Agios Nicolas, MV Kirri Billi, MV Era-S, MT White Pearl, MT Gas Amazon, MT Tiamat Gas, MT Kano, MT Al-Khattiya, MT Brizo, MT Lime Galaxy and MT Elm Galaxy carrying containers, soyabean, canola seeds, rice, LPG, LNG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV Hansa America, MT Al-Khattiya and MT Elm Galaxy carrying containers, LNG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Energy Terminal and Liquid Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were five ships namely CV Teno, CV Prosper, CV Hansa America CV Priority and CV MSC Busan carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Friday. There are three ships namely CV Melina, CV Virgo and MT Bahra carrying containers and diesel oil respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while another ship namely MV Reem carrying bitumen is due to arrive on Sunday. There are three ships namely CV Mediterranean Bridge, CV MSC Maeva and MT Ondo carrying containers and LNG respectively due to arrive on Monday.
