Chairman Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Irfan Qaiser Sheikh has said that TEVTA has started four month course for enhancing of communication skills and personality grooming of its already registered students.

While addressing a meeting at TEVTA Secretariat here on Friday, Chairman TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that TEVTA has started a training programme for the final year graduates of the Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) students which is based on the professional requirement of English language proficiency and personality grooming demanded by local and foreign employers.

For this purpose a pilot project is already being implemented by TEVTA three colleges including Government College of Technology (GCT) Wahdat Road, GCT Raiwind Road and Sunday Campus, GCT Lytton Road.

Irfan Qaiser said that the course will be held in multimedia classrooms using audio video aids, ensuring the interest and engagement of the students enrolled in the programme. The session in each module conducted in the classrooms of the GCTs consists of planned interactive lessons for the students, he said.

Talking about English language programme Irfan Qaiser said that the programme is being monitored and evaluated by a team of experts of TEVTA, which is comprised of foreign qualified scholar as well as instructors and trainers. The feedback of the principals of the above institution and the student enrolled in the programme is also being collected on regular basis, he said.

Talking about response of students, Irfan Qaiser said that the motivation of the students attending the course is evident and a noticeable change has been seen in the overall personality of the third year graduate of DAE.

Chairman said that after completing this course the students of TEVTA will be able to present their appearance, skills and talent in a better way especially during their interviews. There are numerous educational institutions in Pakistan which are offering conventional and technical education but only a few institutions are focusing on personality grooming of students, he said.

After starting of this course, TEVTA has been included in the list of those few organizations which are imparting every aspect of education and making students perfect professionals, Chairman said adding that students of TEVTA will also be immediately hired by the companies in Pakistan as well as by foreign companies.
