The E&T department has adopted a nine steps registration process based on modern techniques and use of information technologies, replacing the 30 steps old and outdated process. The new adopted procedure would reduce the time period for vehicle registration to 45 days instead of six months.
The E&T department would have to issue registration books and computerized number plates to more than 290,000 vehicles during the current month and requested the owners of new motorbikes to apply for registration at the earliest otherwise action would be taken against all such motor bikes having no registration in the next month.
It is worth mentioning that the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had directed the Excise and Taxation department to make the vehicle registration process simple and time saving for the public.
