Directors of the German Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) welcomed a German delegation to Karachi. The delegation consisting of eight companies was due here to visit the Expo 2017 exhibition and was led by the commercial councillors from the Pakistan Embassy in Germany.

The members of the German delegation included Professor Susanne Goretzki, Uwe Schmidt, Norbert W Hartung, Salman Azhar, Dr G M Randhawa, Ralf Honicke, Alex Bhatti and Moritz Seiler. The GPCCI side was represented by Nadeem Kazmi, Senior Vice President, Sohail Yasin Suleiman, Vice President, and directors, Kalim Farooqui, Ashraf Bawany and Khurram Bukhari.

Speaking at a meeting held in their honour at the GPCCI head office in Karachi, Nadeem Kazmi, Senior Vice President, welcomed the delegation and congratulated the Pakistan embassy for organising a good delegation. Kazmi emphasised the need for this exchange of contacts between Pakistani and German businesses and assured the German delegation of the full support of GPCCI.

Khawaja Khurram Naeem thanked GPCCI for the welcome and appreciated the efforts GPCCI is making in connecting the businesses of both the countries. He said that Germany is an important trade partner for Pakistan and is the biggest economy of Europe. There is a still lot of opportunities to explore and together GPCCI and Pakistan Embassy can help SMEs of both countries tap these opportunities.

Members of the delegation engaged with GPCCI directors and discussed issues of mutual interest like development of business links for SMEs, lobbying the governments of both countries to promote business and support GPCCI can provide the German companies in Pakistan. The delegation was also apprised of the current economic climate of Pakistan.-PR
