The Provincial Excise and Taxation department Tuesday claimed to have collected Rs 14.811 billion during first quarter of current fiscal year. The department has Rs 14.811 billion taxes in various heads against the collection of Rs 13.490 billion made during the preceding period.

During a departmental briefing, Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said that the department collected Rs 1825 million as Motor Vehicle Tax, Rs 3,305.472 million as infrastructure cess, Rs 32.120 million as professional tax and Rs 233.603 million as property tax.
